Did you miss out on the Startup University Stage presentations in May? Don’t worry, because the Collision blog has you covered. I hosted one of the panels, focusing on why giving up as a startup founder is a quick ticket to failure. Ramona Pierson from Declara and Jeff Pulver from Pulver HWC joined me to share their stories of how giving up would have been so easy, but their dedication eventually led to some pretty sweet benefits.

Other top happenings included the importance of putting the customer first, which was heralded by the 630 attendees as one of the most helpful discussions of the day. Every single panel discussion offered insights on how to achieve success as a startup and small business. Building trust is often put on the back burner for startups, but it should always be a priority—there’s no business without your customers!

Experimentation over elaborate planning is revered by Steve Blank, and he explained how to do this and how to steer clear of the natural human desire to over-organize. Knowing what the startup journey should look like is another must for founders.
