Even Cosmopolitan, a leading beauty and fashion magazine, is covering the Pokemon Go server breakdown! The recent article quickly admits that it’s the most addictive game of all time, and people are absolutely going nuts when the servers go down. A server breakdown happened just two days after the official UK launch, and users weren’t having any of it. Cosmo pointed to a number of tweets bemoaning the outage, including mine: “Halfway through my 8 mile walk and this happens. Time for an Uber home. #pointlesswalk #pokemongo.”

There have been previous complaints about freezing and troubles logging in, with the common message, “Our servers are humbled by your incredible response. We are working to resolve the issue. Please try again soon!” In the beginning, everyone thought it was the sheer number of users making the game slow, but it was actually an app glitch.

A hacking group has come forth saying they’re responsible via a DDoS attack, one of the most common server attacks. Hacks are often about control, and having the power to take down the world’s most popular game is surely an ego boost! Too bad the hackers don’t take up the call to move the game along better and help the servers.
