I was pleased to be included among 24 other thought leaders on a LinkedIn Marketing Solutions blog post that collected various perspectives on what content marketing means. It’s a popular term used today that seems to be a catch-all for the trend toward providing relevant information to a specific audience. While that is the general intent of content marketing, what it actually encompasses involves so much more when considered within the overall construct of an online marketing strategy.
In offering my own definition of content marketing, I noted that “successful content marketing means communicating effectively, making connections, engaging your audience, inspiring customer action, and providing something of value to your fans or followers.”
I enjoyed all the definitions that were shared within the article because they each provided a different dimension to what content marketing means, illustrating the diverse application it offers within today’s marketing strategy.
