Have you ever wondered how Fortune 500 leaders spend their days? That’s what Chris Stowell (International Center for Management and Organization Effectiveness) and I started discussing, and we undertook a massive survey of 163 Fortune 500 companies to find out! You might get some new ideas, inspiration, or even find out that you have a very similar schedule to some of these experts.

It turns out that 70 percent of respondents make time for breakfast every day. Having the energy you need to get started is key for many leaders. For those who do commute, the average time is 25 minutes each way and the majority try to optimize this time. You can get some work taken care of or indulge in some complementary hobbies (like listening to an e-book on business).

On a daily basis, respondents are in meeting for 2.5 hours. They make the most of this time by taking control of meetings. Keeping them as trim as possible, making every minute count, and prepping for them are crucial.
