Being able to program has become less of a niche specialty and something that everyone in your IT department (and beyond!) should at least dabble in. It can save you double work, hiring contractors, headaches, and stress. Business.com recently published a piece about where you can snag these skills, and I was pleased to share my own tips with them.

My favorite site is Codecademy, which is where I began my programming tutelage—and have continued to stick with it as I expand my knowledge. At Due.com, we encourage all of our employees to learn new skills and recommend Codecademy to them. Being better at programming will only benefit the employee and the company.

There are some other great recommendations in this article, such as Code School and Galvanize. Remember that if there’s a fee for these lessons (as there often is), this is an easy business write-off. “The Clean Coder” and Treehouse are also top picks, and places where your workers can become better IT employees in a fun, flexible, and non-threatening online environment. Find more options now by reading the suggestions from my fellow entrepreneurs and tech gurus.
