If you’re looking for great ideas on building your brand online, the Business 2 Community blog just published a whopper of a list on Valentine’s Day! I’m happy to represent number 13, touting the benefits of guest blogging. It’s a lot less work than committing to your own blog (but also a great idea!) and you get to tap into the benefits of someone else’s network. It also helps with networking, fostering connections, and helps establish you as an expert in your field.

Other tips include “getting published,” which might mean different things based on your industry. Also, “find out where the tribe you want to lead is hanging out.” Spending time around not just those you admire, but those you want to lead, is what will get you there. Birds of a feather is a true clichéd statement, but focus on getting to the point of leading them—not just hanging out with them.
