The folks at Switch and Shift recently asked 11 entrepreneurs and business owners (including myself) what our favorite business books of 2015 were. There was no question about it for me—Peter Thiel’s Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future was a game changer. He’s the founder of PayPal, and the book discusses exactly what kind of startups we need right now. The goal of any company should be to address a disparity. After all, successful entrepreneurs scratch their own itches.

I should also point out that taking time to read books that will improve your stance as a business professional is very important. You might think there’s no time for pleasure reading, but fortunately this type of reading is both. Get the right book, like Thiel’s, and it’s a blast to read while also helping you become a better businessperson.

Reading these books is basically learning lessons from those who’ve travelled the road you’re on. What worked, what didn’t work, what they wish they had done differently and more is all detailed. Not reading them is like choosing the hard path. Check out the ten others now!
